Thank you to Meghann Wright for including me in this series again. Proud to have my track surrounded by so many other talented ladies. And thanks to all the people that worked so hard to make this song what it is. "You and I" was written during a time when I was seriously questioning whether to leave New York City. I had already been living here five years and had just graduated from college. Money was tighter than ever and I was with someone who was pushing me to leave the city with him like many of our friends. After about a week of agonizing and writing this song, I realized my days in New York weren't even close to over. I lost the dude, picked up my guitar, and played a ton of gigs the following months, and fell more in love with this city than ever.
